The genre for my film trailer, poster and website is horror/thriller.
My film trailer doesn't have much writing on it due to it being a film and not a piece of writing. However it does have some title screens on it. These title screens show when the film is going to be released and that you can buy it on Blue-ray and DVD as well as what company made the film. I have used the colour red for the writing because its conventions are danger and death. There is a great deal of danger in this film. The colours on the film trailer are the same colours as what a real media text would use, red, black and white.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent is the new film by director India Whiteley. This film sits at the top of the film charts for summer 2013. The film is not yet released, but it's coming to a cinema near you.

My target audience is both male and female but only of the ages 15 and above. This is because all films which contain violence, swearing and sex scenes are certified either 15 or 18. My audience will enjoy watching films at the cinema for the best effect with the noise and picture, but they will also like purchasing the DVD to watch at home and watching films online. Most teenagers are fixed to technology, this means that they will know where and how to find films to watch online. whether it's through social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook and via Google and YouTube. They enjoy watching horror, thriller and scary movies because they find them interesting and love the thrill of them. They like to watch films which leave them jumping out of their seats, what're about unexplainable events and spookiness. My audience like films such as Sinister, Paranormal Activity and Saw. All these films are horror and thriller as well as gore. I thought it would be a brilliant idea to get some of my audience to watch the Sinister film trailer and to ask them a few questions. This was so I could get a response on a real media text. I chose the film trailer Sinister for them to watch as I think it is one of the most jumpy and creepier recent ones that have been released. When I watched this trailer it made me jump at quite a few points. I wanted to see if other people would have the same reaction. So therefore what I did, was I got two members of the class, both male, to sit and watch the trailer on the big screen with the volume fairly loud. I did this because I wanted them to be able to hear the full effect of the trailer. The lights were turned down and it was only them and myself in the room, this was so no one else could effect their reactions.
My film trailer represents what all horror film fans have an interest in when looking for a scary film to watch. It gives the audience a thrilling experience.
The poster has the colours of a real life horror media text, this is red, black and white. These colours will carry on to be used on the website too. Because of the angle that the image, I have had to work all my writing around it. This has worked well though because I like the way the writing is down the third left of the poster. The blood across the top of the page makes it look like a horror poster as blood is most likely to be used in a horror film. Without it, it would just seem like something was missing. The image really stands out on the white background due to the image been dark and most black. I love how the mask stands out really well, you cannot miss it. Everything is spaced out well and it isn't crowded.
The audience for the poster is any one who sees it advertised, this is because it will be published, in large print in the cinema, it could be printed on leaflets, handout and even in shopping centers Therefore no one is being stopped from looking at it. The only placed under aged members of the audience will be stopped from seeing it will be the cinema. It is clear the the poster advertisement is representing the film Amnesia: The Dark Descent.
My website has the same conventions as any other film website would. The colour scheme is once again carried on from the poster and mask in the film, this is to show continuity. There are lots of pictures on the website for the audience to take a look at and there is also the film trailer video for them to see. The website looks very modern and simple so that everyone can understand it and use it without complications.
The website was created by the design team. They were given a strict guideline as for what colours and images should be used, the rest was up to them. They had to decide where the images were place, what writing goes on it and where each aspect is placed. They had to make sure that the website was presentable and eye catching. It had to link to the poster and the film trailer, it also must show continuity so that the audience know they're all related together.
As my website doesn't display and violence on it, it doesn't have an age restriction, all though if I could I would make sure that you had to sign in to prove you age if you want to watch the film trailer video link. This is because as we know, the film is a 15+.
The website represents that film and also the poster. It represents the film in a different way, for instance one way would be the poster. There are many different ways to represent a film.
